SEND Support Practitioner / Teaching Assistant (SEND Provision)

About the school

We are a fully inclusive primary school committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential under the ethos **We All Belong**. The school educates children with SEND within mainstream classes, and provides personalised timetables and tailored interventions to meet individual needs.

Role summary

Join our experienced Inclusion Team to support pupils across the school’s SEND provision, including work with children in the specialised SEND class. You will deliver personalised learning, assist with multi-sensory lessons and life-skills development, and help integrate pupils into mainstream activities where appropriate.

Key responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEND needs.
- Support personalised learning plans and deliver targeted interventions.
- Assist with multi-sensory teaching approaches and life-skills programmes in the SEND setting.
- Help implement therapeutic strategies in collaboration with therapists and the Inclusion Team.
- Support social inclusion by facilitating access to mainstream lessons and activities.

Person specification
- Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally including PMLD or complex needs.
- Skilled in specialist communication methods such as PECS, Team Teach, core boards, or other augmentative strategies.
- Patient, resilient, and committed to inclusive practice.
- Good team working and strong communication with staff and families.
- Willingness to be proactive in professional development and training.
