Delivery Driver/warehouse Assistant part Time

**JOB SPECIFICATION - DELIVERY DRIVER/WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT "PART TIME"** We are currently looking for a part time Delivery Driver/Warehouse Assistant to join our team. We are an independent family run business that is based within the FY4 area. The hours of work will predominately consist of four mornings per week, however these hours may increase on an ad hoc basis due to the need of the business. Our Delivery Driver/Warehouse Assistant role is a pivotal position within our company, as they are often the first point of contact for our valued customers. The role is busy and varied. There are elements to the Delivery Driver/Warehouse Assistant role: - First point of contact - delivering. - Warehousing - pick and prepare orders, checking stock, goods in and dispatch. - Internet sales - internet orders to be picked, packed and dispatched. - Driving - delivering products to customers, typically within the North West Region. **Hours of Work**: Part time hours, predominately four mornings per week, however these hours may increase on an ad hoc basis due to the need of the business. (no Sunday or bank holiday working). Flexibility is required. **Duties**: - Obtaining stock for customer orders. - Processing relevant paperwork. - Picking, loading, delivering and unloading goods at customer sites within the delivery area. - Checking and recording delivery paperwork. - Stock management/stock taking with a high degree of accuracy. - Overseeing your allocated areas within the warehouse/shop ensuring adherence to Health and Safety requirements, keeping the area clean and tidy. - Building and maintaining good working relationships with your team and customers. - Monitoring stock levels and helping to minimize stock loss by watching for theft and through advising management of discrepancies. - Providing cover and assistance anywhere within the unit as and when required. - General re-dressing of the shop area to ensure products are displayed with maximum appeal to the customer. - Selecting space for storage and arranging for goods to be placed in the designated areas. - Making sure that all inventory processes are completed on the same day, this to include deliveries to be brought into stock and put away on the same day of receiving them unless a delivery is received after 4pm. - Cleaning and tidying up at the end of the day. - Consistently demonstrating and adhering to the company values at all times. - Daily warehouse duties. - Complete system transactions for dispatch of stock, goods in, receiving and stock locations. - Ensuring vehicles are maintained and kept clean. **Responsibilities of the role**: The Individual Capability, Knowledge and Experience - Previous delivery driver and warehouse experience is preferred. - Previous customer service experience is preferred. - Understanding of IT systems is preferred. - Using mechanical handling equipment e.g. fork lift trucks (if licenced). **Personal Characteristics**: - Full and clean driving licence is essential. - Strong customer service ethos with the desire to go above and beyond for the customer. - Excellent communication skills. - Ability to work under pressure. - The ability to work quickly and accurately with excellent attention to detail. - Motivated with good organisational skills. - Team worker but also happy and able to work unsupervised. - Proactive with a high level of common sense. These duties are not exhaustive. Additional hours of work may be required, as determined by the needs of the business.
