A fantastic opportunity has just arisen for a Property Litigation Paralegal to join a top UK law firm in Birmingham.
This top 100 law firm possess one of the highest ranked Social Housing teams in the UK. They act predominantly for Registered Providers (RPs) as well as private organisations, land owners, developers, investors, charities, and local authorities. The firm havea proven track record of offering Training Contracts to their paralegals. As such, this is a great opportunity for a Property Litigation Paralegal to progress their career within one of the biggest and most successful practices in the country.
**The role**:
As Property Litigation Paralegal, you will be responsible for assisting the fee earners in the team as well as having the scope and support to build and manage your own caseload. You will be advising landlords and social housing providers on a broad range ofdisputes such as rent arrears matters and breach of tenancy issues. Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and preparing claim forms, pleadings and witness statements for the County Court
- Conducting advocacy in the County Court
- Dealing with enquiries made by clients, Barristers and other fee earners
- Trial preparation (trial bundles etc.)
- Liaising with Court prior to trials to ensure all required paperwork etc. is in place
- Attending Court to assist Barristers and other fee-earners
- Juggling several deadlines relating to a variety of cases at any one time
**About you**:
- The successful Property Litigation Paralegal will be education to LLB/GDL level (or equivalent) and have achieved a 2.2 or above at undergraduate level
- You will have previous experience working in Property Litigation, particularly preparation of trial pleadings and witness statements
- Experience dealing with Registered Providers/private landlords
- A team player who enjoys a fast-paced role
