**Babcock International and Submarine Support Engineering** The Structures Engineer role is based within our Submarine Support Engineering (SSE).

For more than a century, Babcock, the Aerospace and Defence Company, has been trusted to deliver bespoke, highly-skilled engineering services. We help customers in the UK and around the world to improve the capability, reliability and availability of theirmost critical assets within the four market sectors of Marine, Land, Aviation, and Nuclear.

The SSE mission is to deliver submarine programme and engineering excellence through enterprise collaboration, innovation and analytics. Within SSE, the Constructive Group support the Royal Navy Submarine Fleet through the Structures, Naval Architecture,Seamanship and Outfitting and Design Change disciplines.

**The role
The difference our new Structures Engineer will make** As a Structures Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people with a desire to be at the forefront of engineering excellence, to join a growing team of structural engineers within the ConstructiveGroup.

Day to day, you'll carry out structural assessments using hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis. You'll perform platform surveys and validation exercises, and trials and testing. Then report this back to various stakeholders, making visible contributionsto the defence capability of the UK, helping to keep the Royal Navy at sea and fighting fit

**Essential experience**:

- Degree qualified in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Effective project management, interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven track record of delivery reliability, productivity and quality;
- A continuous improvement mentality.

The post will be based in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. You must be a sole UK national and be eligible for 'Security Check' (SC) or 'Developed Vetting' (DV) securityclearance.
