**Family Support Practitioner**with experience of providing specialist family expertise, advice and interventions to staff and service users including families and carers is required for a well-established organisation based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire,South East England.

**SALARY**:£26,250 - £28,304 pro rata (depending on experience)

**LOCATION**:Based in the Aylesbury office - unfortunately remote/homebased working is not possible for this role

**JOB TYPE**:Part-Time, Permanent

**WORKING HOURS**:20 hours per week - will include evening, weekend and bank holiday work

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Family Support Practitionerwith experience of providing specialist family expertise, advice and interventions to staff and service users including families and carers.

The organisation delivers the leading adult’s substance misuse service in Buckinghamshire, and the Family Support Practitioner will provide support and treatment to those affected by someone’s alcohol and drug use.

The Family Support Practitioner will contribute to the development of family service protocols and policies in line with national guidance, and signpost service users to other services, which will meet their needs in accordance with the objectives in theircare plan.

**DUTIES**

Your role as a Family Support Practitionerwill include:

- Be a specialist resource within the team for the family provision and interventions
- Contribute to the development of family service protocols and policies in line with national guidance
- Signpost service users to other services, which will meet their needs in accordance with the objectives in their care plan
- Provide information to the Service Manager, the Clinical Governance Lead and Team Manager when required to do so
- Leading and being responsible for family provision role within the team
- Ensuring that all family interventions and practice is evidence based and up to date with relevant national and local policy and legislation
- Supporting and training staff in developing the skills and knowledge specific to families and carers interventions
- Attending internal and external multi-disciplinary teams in their specialism
- Supporting a service users, families and carers through their treatment journey from beginning to end
- Embracing the concept of recovery and demonstrating this in your day-to-day work
- Keeping up to date and accurate records and documentation
- Updating and the Development of family and carers pathways and protocols specific to role in conjunction with management team
- Promote partnership work and develop integrated care pathways with local family and carer agencies
- Quality Control and Support in the audit process
- Provide training and mentoring to other staff to help the service develop and to support staff in their continuous professional development
- Keep leaflets and promotional material up to date
- Promote the role
- Keep up to date with general health developments in the field of drug treatment particularly in their lead role of families

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- Vocational qualification e.g., NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrable education and/or training in substance use work
- A good working knowledge and understanding of service users with drug and/or alcohol related problems
- Experience in managing a caseload of service users with complex needs
- Awareness of issues faced by others involved with people experiencing drug and alcohol related problems
- Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor the message to the audience
- Able to deliver a range of services/treatments/interventions in a person centred, non-judgmental manner
- Able to demonstrate flexibility and creativity when developing support packages
- Collaborative team working skills
- Adaptable and able to work in a challenging and changeable environment
- Ability to deliver against agreed objectives and targets
