**Job Title - **Senior Buyer

**Hours** - Full Time, 40 hours, office based

**Salary -** From £35,000 per year depending on experience

**Location** - Bingham, Nottingham (Head Office)

We specialise in providing high standard Fire Safety and Passive Fire Protection services to top niche clients from a broad number of industries such as Construction, Hotels Sport and Leisure, Housing, Education, Commercial, Manufacturing and Industrial.

**What you will do**
- Create and maintain effective partnerships with suppliers and all relevant stakeholders to drive performance
- Negotiating and delivering cost savings whilst ensuring the highest level of quality and service
- Market and internal analysis - using market intelligence, benchmarking, market testing, competitive tendering, pre-qualification, evaluation, and recommendation of potential suppliers
- Liaising with key employees to promote the awareness of the Procurement department, offering advice and guidance to the business in all matters relating to the procurement of goods and services in line with the use of existing Procurement Policy and Procedures
- Develop service level agreements and key performance indicators to monitor and measure suppliers against pre-determined targets as part of ongoing supplier contract management
- Provide market intelligence and advise the business on the best way to achieve value for money, including total cost of ownership, innovation and sustainability initiatives
- Supporting the department with day-to-day operational requirements
- Accountable for driving profit enhancement, cost savings
- Support Estimating and Tender/Project bids
- Support the development and optimisation of a supply base that enables differentiated New Product Development (NPD)
- Support the management of ongoing vendor relationships and supplier performance
- Ensure regular supplier meetings takes place and implement improvement strategies with suppliers
- Supports supplier selection criteria through performing the initial research and providing input in the selection of suppliers in collaboration with a cross-functional team

**Qualifications**:

- Computer literate in software such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.
- GCSE / A Level
- Ideally, hold a purchasing or supply chain qualification (CIPS or APICS)

Knowledge
- Ideally have a minimum of 18 months of experience in a similar role
- Willingness to learn and train in the Construction / Passive Fire Protection / Fire Protection Industry
- Commercial Awareness
- Proven track record of cost savings and supplier performance improvement
