Job Title: Young Person’s Domestic Abuse Practitioner (DAP)

Location: Northallerton

Hours: 22 hours per week

**Benefits**:
**Salary**: £22,571.20 (Full-Time) £13,420.71 (Part-time)

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Supporting Clients** - To co-ordinate and provide support for children and young people whose social, emotional, behavioural and educational outcomes are being affected by the impact of domestic abuse and to co-ordinate support for the whole family, working closely with partners and the lead practitioner. To provide intensive support to a caseload of children and young people. To provide support to parents and guardians of children affected by domestic abuse working in a whole family way, including the delivery of groups and workshops in the community and online to recognise the impact of domestic abuse and the effect on children and young people.

**Internal and External Liaison and communication - **To act as an advisor on children’s services within IDAS providing training and updates to staff and volunteers. To liaise with and train external agencies to increase public awareness of the issues surrounding domestic abuse.

**Service Delivery** - To operate in accordance with best practice and within the policies and procedures of IDAS. To keep clear and up to date records and information. To record all information on IDAS Case Management System. To participate (on a rota basis) in the delivery of a 7-day week out of hours helpline.

**Key Requirements**:
**Working with people - **Must have a proven track record of working with people affected by domestic violence and/or children and young people. Must have the ability to work in a trauma informed way. Must have a proven track record of partnership working and have the skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with partners and stakeholders

**Communication - **Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and stakeholders. Must show an ability to articulate views and ideas in a persuasive way. To be confident at presenting information in a variety of situations, including court settings, in formal training and dealing with feedback and challenges

**Qualifications** - Must have a recognised ISVA/IDVA qualification or 2 years relevant experience. Must have a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
