**Senior Mechanical Engineer - Vibration**

**Purpose of the role**:
This role can be based at our facility in Nuneaton or Horsham
**Key Accountabilities**:

- Define and mature the system vibration requirements
- Own and organise the dynamic and static vibration validation and verification for parts and systems to demonstrate they meet requirements
- Mature and share the knowledge of the vibration response of parts and systems
- Represent vibration robustness during the development lifecycle
- Develop the suite of vibration tools, processes, and design guidelines
- Build the library of technical reports on vibration failure modes and mechanisms
**Knowledge and skills required for the role**:

- STEM degree, equivalent higher-level engineering qualification or significant related experience
- Able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the fundamentals of vibration theory including preforming hand calculations that predict component natural frequencies.
- Modal testing experience with any industry standard package and knowledge of developing and validate dynamic models would be advantageous.
- Knowledgeable in specifying vibrational test setup to meet the dynamic requirements of the tests
- Experienced in training engineers to develop their understanding of vibration related failure modes and design mitigations
- Proficient in using design risk tools such as DFMEA and issues management tools such as 8D's and when to use them appropriately
- Strong expertise in New Product Introduction and lifecycle management.
