**Role**:
An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Security Analyst to continue and develop a career in a forward thinking, growing and progressive IT Managed Services Provider, who provide Cloud Services, on site and remote support, and consultancy services to awide range of small to medium customers.
We are looking for a talented engineer who is skilled and capable of working as part of a very busy and dynamic team, as well as being able to remain autonomous and self-sufficient in order to analyse and act upon security alerts, events, audits, and proactivetasks for small to medium sized businesses in a very fast paced organisation.
You’ll provide technical assistance with the initial set-up and secure deployment of systems that support information security including EDR, firewall technologies (such as content filtering, intrusion detection and prevention), security incident and eventmanagement and vulnerability management. You’ll then transition these services into support, help maintain them, and regularly test and fix issues as they arise.
**Skills, Knowledge, and Experience**:
**Essential**:
- Experience in integrating security controls into an Azure cloud environment, and on premises infrastructure, including end user support
- Good networking knowledge
- A drive to learn more about security
- Basic certifications in security, comparable to CompTIA Security +, CompTIA CYSA+
- 3-4 years of technical experience on a busy support helpdesk, with a broad understanding of technology with recent hands-on experience in administering IT security controls in an organization.
- Creating and reviewing results from security scans, experience in deploying fixes following internal / external Penetration tests, vulnerabilities assessments & audits
- Credible, confident, and articulate, with excellent communication and presentation skills and the gravitas to deliver ideas clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority
- Personable and approachable, with an enthusiastic and motivational nature with an overall passion for excellence
- Knowledge of technical infrastructure, networks, databases, and systems in relation to IT Security and IT Risk.
**Desirable**:
- Experience with IPS/IDS and SIEM technologies.
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or related certification.
- Prior experience working within an MSP.
- Networking, Cloud, Windows/MacOS workstation and server administration experience preferred.
- Prior experience performing security reviews and risk assessments preferred.
- Extensive hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting customer requirements and support issues in a changing Server, Storage, Application and Networking environment.
- Extensive knowledge in supporting and troubleshooting windows servers 2012-2019
- Experience with Azure Services, Azure Portal, Intune and Office365 support
- Virtualisation (VMware vSphere 5.5 to 7) administration and troubleshooting
- Support and implementation of Backup strategies, technologies, (Veeam, Backup Exec and others) tape rotation, and restore procedures
- Ability to support and deliver centrally controlled and standalone EDR software and architecture. (Kaspersky, Sophos, McAfee, Symantec or similar)
- Support experience with firewall & VPN solutions provided by WatchGuard, Cisco and other vendors. Both physical and virtual
