**The Role**
A position has become available within the Special Education Needs (SEN) Team for an Education Health and Care (EHC) Plan Officer on a fixed term contract for two years. This is an opportunity to join a supportive team who are committed to delivering quality services.
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing draft and final EHC Plans, attending coproduction meetings with families and preparing information for decision making panels. Supervision and support will be provided by the lead of the SEN Assessment Team and the SEN Team Manager.
In addition, the post-holder will provide advice and guidance to parents, children and young people with SEN, schools and other professionals regarding the requirements of the SEND Code of Practice 2014. Close working with a range of service providers including colleagues in health, social care and education is required in order to ensure the delivery of effective EHC Plans in accordance with statutory deadlines.
The successful applicants for this largely desk based role will have: excellent interpersonal skills, proven written skills, attention to detail and will be focused on securing the best outcomes for the children and young people with SEN in Herefordshire.
