What’s the purpose of role:
Permanent Role: 40 hours per week.

As a Customer Focused General Assistant, you will play a pivotal role at London Heathrow in ensuring that our catering and goods arrive with our airline clients on time, in-line with various scheduling requirements.

What you’ll be doing:

- Plating in-flight meals (ensure the highest possible standards of food presentation)
- Assisting the kitchen team
- Maintain standards of food safety and hygiene per legislation and other statutory requirements / companyrules and policies such as maintaining a clean and safe work station
- Promote good teamwork and work in a friendly, efficient manner
- Weighing and packing the produce
- Undertake some manual handling/bending and reaching
- Ensure production packing deadlines are met
- Quality and weight check
- Conducting work in a cold area
- Wearing specialized clothing and equipment t protect from contaminants and other hazards
- Marking food products with expiration dates or other labels
- Ensure that food production is safe for consumption and meets the quality standards of the company
- Working with all types of food and alcohol

What you’ll have:

- The ability to work on your own, well with others and with your hands
- Previous culinary experience is an advantage
- Team player
- Basic checking skills
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
- Good standard of numeracy
- Basic communicative English
- Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes

Training:
Training will be provided from supervisors, managers and experienced colleagues - this training includes safety procedures, proper food handling techniques, how to use equipment, golden standards, specific menus and all required key duties.
