**Role: Senior Category Manager**

**Location: Derbyshire - 1 day a week in the office**

**Type: Contract - 6 Months**

**Day rate: £200 - £300**

Sellick Partnership are representing a well-known public sector organisation in the Derbyshire area. They need someone to develop and lead a specific strategic sourcing programme for defined categories. Taking the lead on specific/allocated portfolio ofsourcing categories and contributing significantly to the delivery of allocated procurement projects within key markets.

**Key responsibilities for the Senior Category Manger will be**:

- Support Directors of Procurement in the delivery of cost and efficiency savings
- Analyse current spend information to develop procurement strategies
- Ensure contract compliance across the collaborative, pursuing procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects
- Meet customer requirements by demonstrating best value for money, through compliance with category priorities and contracts, and by actively managing the marketplace through development of key strategies for supplier and contract management.
- Setting up and/or working with established Product Evaluation Groups to evaluate products and fast track product rationalisation decisions
- Ensures processes are in place so that effective, collaborative equipment purchases, trials, and long-term plans to allow for standardisation using evidence base and innovative practice
- Works closely with Commissioning teams to ensure cohesive strategies in the delivery of products and services, standardisation of services
