We have a fantastic opportunity for a Night Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Altcourse, a busy Category B male prison in Fazakarley, Liverpool. HMP Altcourse is the busiest remand prison in the country, so there's lots going on in this exciting, varied role, where you will gain valuable experience, and no two days are ever the same

This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. This role offers excellent developmental opportunities and is a great environment to build on your experience and gain new skills

**Hours**:
This is a night shift role, working 7 nights on, 7 nights off. The shifts are 20:00 - 07:15.

**Salary**:
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary of £25,557 - £29,723 per annum - depending on experience.

**What you'll be doing**:
As our new Nights Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

- Work across Inpatients overnight, which may include personal care and moving & handling
- Be a key part of the Primary Care team overnight, working closely with the nurse on duty
- Respond to emergency situations as required
- Carry out admin tasks
- Assist the Substance Misuse team as required

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:

- Ideally hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent
- Have experience in a care setting previously -care home, community, prison etc
- Ideally have experience within Primary Care or Inpatients
- Have good IT skills
- Any Substance Misuse experience would be a bonus
- Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
