We have an exciting opportunity for a buyer to join our team in Deeside. The purpose of the role is to maximise purchasing performance whilst controlling inventory levels, maintaining customer service excellence and enhancing safety and business profitability.

**KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintain supply of key materials maximising volume purchasing benefits.
- Develop supplier strategies.
- Meet target costs.
- Undertake strategic sourcing activities utilising established business tools and templates.
- Support the development and communication of a sourcing strategy to shape purchasing decisions.
- Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
- Monitor market trends and supply chain strategies.
- Provide analysis on costs and review cost reduction activities.
- Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous and business improvements.
- Develop and manage the contractual relationship with key suppliers to manage business risk.
- Develop synergies either locally or within group.
- Prepare data towards monthly performance reports

**Performance**
- Manage number of suppliers to maximise benefit.
- Managing cost/price information.
- Ability to communicate key tasks, objectives and progress on initiatives.
- Develop supply agreements with major suppliers to enhance performance and risk avoidance.
- Be flexible enough to perform a range of category management duties in order to support the business.
- Ensure that computer systems provide maximum benefit and efficiency.
- Make v Buy decisions

**Inventory**
- Responsible as part of the team for inventory levels in Deeside.
- Structure supply contracts to minimise inventory levels whilst maintaining service levels.orightsizing inventory levels
- Co-ordinated inventory / stock take in Deeside.
- Ensure cost data on systems is accurate.
- Maintain / improve stock turns.
- Involvement in a stock optimisation project.

**Customer Service**
- Ensure customer service levels are not compromised by supply issues
- Ensure that customer services levels are maintained at minimum cost and cash impact.
- Liaise with internal customers to provide costs and lead times etc for project work.
- Support SQDCIP process.

**Purchasing Co-ordination**
- Ensure that purchasing activities across all sites are controlled and co-ordinated via ‘umbrella’ agreements where possible.
- Review supply options from LCC or Group Direct Sourcing.
- Ensure best practice is employed across sites.
- Utilise CRH NPR initiatives where possible to add value.
- Co-ordinate materials across sites so avoid double stocking and adverse purchasing variations.

- Must be comfortable or have experience of working in a manufacturing environment.

**Desirable**
- Experience of working with manufacturing metals stainless & carbon steel.

**Education & Qualifications**

**Essential**
- Graduate level qualification in suitable discipline or relevant experience and qualifications
- A relevant professional qualification e.g. CIPS or studying towards
- Flexibility
- Support any department or factory projects as required
- Where you possess the relevant skills and knowledge, or following suitable training, be flexible enough to perform any other reasonable duties in order to support the business

**Health & Safety**

- Lead the CRH Business Code of Conduct at all times.
- Involvement in the CRH Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
