Full time SEN teaching assistant to work in a pupil referral unit in Hackney.

**About the role**

The school are looking to take on a long term teaching assistant to join a great team in Hackney. We are looking to recruit an SEN teaching assistant for employment in a well resourced Pupil referral unit. The post is to start as soon as possible, and youwill be required to work during term time until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff. You will be working with priamry and secondary aged students, full time leading into a permanent role.

**About the school** The school is located only a 5 minute walk from the nearest tube station located on the northern line. The school are looking for a full time teaching assistant to support pupils and teachers from KS1 up to KS4, with both primary and secodnary sharing asite. The school have recently moved to a new site and not only will you have access to state of the facilities, a free lunch socialising with students will be included. Students arrive at 8:30 and finsih at 4, however this can vary dependant on how each dayto goes.

**Requirements** To be considered for the role of Full-Time Teaching Assistant you will:

- Must have experience working in a Pupil referral unit (PRU)
- Must be able to travel to the London Borough of Hackney
- Looking for full time work
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff and educational psychologists.
- Team Teach or de-escalation training is highly advantageous.
- Working knowledge of meeting the emotional, social, and mental health of young people
- Desire to take a supporting role in alternative education setting

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

- previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
