Raw Material Procurement Assistant

**The Role & Key Responsibilities**

**Job Title**:Raw Material Procurement Assistant

**Location**:Melmerby, North Yorkshire, Onsite

**Contract**:Permanent position. Full Time (37.5 hours) Are you working in a similar role, and perhaps looking for a change. Whilst we are part of a global organisation, our Melmerby site retains its family feel.In this role you’ll work alongside the Raw Material manager and will assist with the hands-on ownershipof raw materials in the AB Neo UK site.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Calculating material demand to meet daily production requirements
- Ensuring that accurate planning parameters are reflected in our IT/MRP systems and regularly review to ensure optimum materials inventory holding on site
- Raise and issue purchase orders (contract & non-contract) to suppliers
- Ensure optimum daily stock levels of each material are achieved
- Monitor daily variances and potential stock outs, investigating and troubleshooting issues to resolution, reflecting changes in the IT system
- Responsible for contract administration duties
- Interact with suppliers to obtain market and supply information, sharing with the procurement and commercial teams appropriately
- Negotiate on price and contract terms as and when required, in line with budge parameters
- Work with the central finance teams to investigate and resolve any supplier invoice queries on a timely basis. Be proactive in minimising invoice queries when placing, fixing and arranging haulage.
- Provide cover and support procurement manager in buying, contract management, pricing and reporting.
- Experienced in the end-to-end procurement process
- Previous experience of materials planning (ideally within the manufacturing environment)
- Seasoned in supplier negotiations combined with a strong attention to detail and able to establish positions of strength
- Strong organisational skills, comfortable with managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
