It has long been recognised that children who are raised in their own families have better outcomes in life. However even when children cannot stay in their birth families this does not mean that there will not come a time when risks, and needs change and can be managed more sustainably. Going Home and Staying Home are a project team who will be supporting the case holding social workers to assess families and children currently in the Looked After system, to identify needs and risks, and offer families support to meet the children’s need and rehabilitate them home to their communities

**Purpose of Role**:
Working in a small project group:

- You will be working directly with children, young people and family members where assessments will have been made that rehabilitation home is a possibility.
- You will need to make trusting relationships with the young people and their families to contribute to the development and review of care plans which facilitate their journey either home, or to develop networks in the community which can sustain them into adult life.
- You will need resilience, an ability to work with assessed levels of risk and challenge, and a good sense of humour
- You will work alongside other Family Support Workers, an assessing Social Worker, with supervision and support provided a dedicated Senior Practitioner.

HOURS: 37 hours across 7 days - working pattern of 9 am-5 pm &
2 pm-10 pm. If required to work a Saturday or Sunday, an enhanced rate is payable.

LOCATION: Usk and the Monmouthshire locality

**Experience**:
Previous experience working with Children

A full driving license is needed with access to a vehicle.

You must also have right to work in the UK

**Job Type**: Temporary contract
Contract length: 24 months

**Salary**: £25,409.00-£27,344.00 per year
