Birmingham, United Kingdom Monument Full time

**Lead Web Designer**

**Start Date**: ASAP

**Salary**: £35,000-£40,000

**Location**: Birmingham / Remote (Hybrid)

**Experience**: 5+ Years

Monument is looking for a new mon to join the team We are looking for a Lead Web Designer who can take control of our web design process - you should be an expert at handling the web design process from start to finish, understanding user journeys to create low fidelity wireframes, high fidelity designs, and user/task flows in software such as Figma, XD, Illustrator and Photoshop - being handy with WordPress will be a major advantage in this role, and experience in leading a team would be ideal.

You might currently be a Senior Web Designer. If so, this role could represent a step forward in your career, with tangible prospects for growth, as we will invite you to help lead the way forward for the UX and Web Design in the company.

**The Day-to-Day**

We’re a brand new business, and we work closely with our team members to design and implement best-in-class services for our clients. Everyone on the team has a voice, and the leaders of the business are relying on the expertise and vision of our mons to help build a truly world-class agency.

As you’ll be aware, it’s rare that 2 days are ever the same in the world of digital, meaning that variety and challenges are the order of the day. Although you will be responsible for Web Design in general, you will engage and collaborate with team members in other channels in order to create cohesive and holistic digital strategies for our clients.

You will regularly be invited to give your thoughts on your role and the services you provide, so we can help you become the best designer you can be, and provide the best services to our clients.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Develop and oversee the design process from inception to deployment
- Lead and manage a team of designers and developers
- Collaborate with clients to understand their design needs and goals
- Create and implement design processes in an agency environment
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and final designs using tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Write clean and effective HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP code to bring designs to life on WordPress
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard
- Mentor and train team members on design best practices and techniques

**Who we’re Looking For**

You should have ideas about the best way to do things, as well as a keen approach to learning, understanding, and innovating. Our industry moves at light speed, and it takes a team effort to stay on top of best practices, platform changes, and new tools. We look to each other for news and updates.

You don’t have to have it all figured out from day 1, but a pragmatic approach to problem solving and a proactive nature will be the tools that help you make the most out of the challenges and opportunities presented in this role.

To be successful in this role you must possess:

- At least 5 years of experience in a management role, ideally in an agency setting
- Excellent design skills, with experience in XD, Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Wordpress
- Strong front-end web development skills, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and some PHP
- Excellent time management and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders to understand their design requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Generally speaking, if you are passionate about digital, generating great results for clients, and working towards being the best you can be, then there’s a really good chance you will make a great addition to the team.

We are based in central Birmingham, and operate on a hybrid working basis, with 2 days in the office, 2 days remote, and a day on which you can choose where you would like to work from. Our office days are 9AM-5:30PM with an hour lunch.

**What’s so great about being a Mon?**

We are heavily invested in creating a culture of excellence from the ground up, and that starts with our mons (the word staff just isn’t as fun). In order for us to foster an exceptional environment, we make life rewarding, fun, and exciting, while also setting standards that give every mon challenges and opportunities for growth.

In the same way that we are careful and selective in the way we work, we are equally diligent in those that we choose to be part of Monument. If we like the cut of your jib, then you can expect the following from us:

- Company Pension Scheme
- 28 Days Holiday + 3 days for Christmas - not including Bank Holidays
- Annual Performance Bonuses
- EMI Share Scheme
