Lorien Global are working with a large financial services organisation based in Telford with a view to recruit an experienced Reporting Accountant on a 12 month fixed-term contract.

The purpose of the role is to prepare regulatory returns for submission to regulators and other supervisory bodies, in particular Solvency II returns. To extract data as required from source accounting systems, operating the relevant control processes anddeveloping those processes as required. To provide accounting MI for decision making.

**Duties include**:

- Prepare Solvency II regulatory returns on an annual and quarterly basis. To ensure work performed in the preparation process is suitably controlled and documented.
- Assist in the preparation of insightful commentary on regulatory returns highlighting key features of the results and material risks and issues arising. Discuss any findings with management or other departments as required.
- Ensure source accounting data is held and, in a format, required for regulatory reporting and prepare relevant adjustments where these are required. Prepare related account reconciliations.
- To develop the reporting process including assisting in the revision of processes to make them more efficient or better controlled and to introduce new processes in response to external changes in requirements.
- To ensure work performed and related documentation is suitable for internal and external audit and to liaise with auditors as required.
- Prepare technical returns required by the business, including but not limited to operational tax returns, statistical information returns and overseas supervisory returns.
- Ensure key controls are clearly documented in Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and relevant evidence is recorded and is suitable for review by senior management and internal and external audit.

**Person Specification**:

- Extensive financial reporting experience
- Able to start as soon as possible
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Previous Oracle experience is advantageous but not essential
- Either a QBE/Finalist or qualified accountant
- Impeccable reporting and analysis skills
