**Job Title: Housekeeper - Preston Private Care Home**

**Midgery Lane Fulwood Preston PR2 9SX**

**Reporting to**:Home Manager

**Job purpose**:To work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the Care Centre, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment always.

Must be flexible to cover holiday cover.

**We do not offer sponsorships / or Student Visas due to having to be Flexible during holiday cover**

**Applicants must have at least 12 months left on their current Visa**

**Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications**

**Required**:

- Team player
- Satisfactory Policy Check and check against the PoVA list
- Ability to work on own initiative

At least 12 months experience.

**Desired**:

- Experience/qualification in care for relevant Service User category

**Main responsibilities**

**Cleaning**:

- Daily cleaning
- Empty waste bins and wipe out
- Vacuum throughout
- Shake out cushions
- Clean dining rooms/lounges/toilets
- Clean taps and sinks
- Clean soap dispenser outlets
- Clean toothbrush holders
- Spot clean all floorings
- Wash all bathroom & toilet floors
- Weekly cleaning
- Polish all mirrors
- Clean all pipe work in toilets
- Dust handrails and radiators
- Move all mobile furniture (including beds and chairs) and vacuum and dust beneath/behind
- Wash out metal wastepaper bins
- Dust and polish furniture and windowsills
- Wash floor covering
- Shampoo carpets as requested by Housekeeper
- Restock toiletries, soaps, towels etc. as and when required

**Communication**:

- Participate in Staff and Service User meetings as required
- Complete all relevant documentation

**Training and Development**:

- Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
- Attend mandatory training days/course, on or off site as and when required

**Health & Safety**:

- Adhere to the Care Centers disposal of waste policy
- Report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service Users, colleague, self or another
- Understand, and ensure the implementation of the Care Centers Health & Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures
- Report to the Home Manager, Housekeeper, Handyperson or Person in Charge any faulty appliances, damaged furniture equipment or any potential hazard
- Promote safe working practice in the Care Centre

**General**:

- Ensure that all existing stocks are maintained in a safe and tidy environment
- Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties
- Notify the Home Manager or Person in Charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and on your return to work from all periods of absence
- Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Care Centre and the company
- Ensure the security of the Care Centre is always maintained
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales
- Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
- Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you
