Our service supports young people in a residential setting for short breaks and Respite. Our facility provides a home from home enviornment for the young person and reassurance for thier family/ carer.

**What qualities make a great Children's Residential Support Worker?**

Empathic, professional, and caring with a genuine interest in young people.

You will have to have experience in a Childrens Care background. Having the drive and commitment to help support the young people in our care achieve their goals, will see you excel in this role. **As a Residential Worker your responsibilities will include**:

- Providing a warm nurturing environment to enable our young people to feel safe to thrive and grow.
- An ability to work in a positive, respectful, and empowering way with all young people to promote good relationships and encourage achievement, whilst being a positive role model.
- Having an understanding of the principles of safeguarding and child protection legislation.
- Participating in the content and update of care planning, supporting the young person’s short
- and long-term goals.
- Working in a positive way with parents and partner agencies to ensure the best opportunities are available for our young people.
- Ensuring each young person is provided with the most effective and appropriate supports for their individual, present and future developmental needs, promoting positive outcomes.
- Maintaining all records and reports that are required by LOVE in terms of the guidelines and regulations and in the interests of communicating effectively within a professional care team.
- Attending meetings as appropriate and to participate in the effective, supportive, and efficient working of the staff team.
- Working cooperatively and communicating as part of a team

**Specifications for this role-**
- To be committed to your own personal and professional development
- Basic IT skills
- HNC Social care or SVQ 3/4 Children and Young People is desirable
- Full driving licence required

**Job Type**: Permanent

Shifts: Dayshift 8am - 8pm. Rolling rota working four days one week and three days the next week.

**Salary**: £21,000 - £23,000 per annum
