Project Management Accountant - Kings Cross - OFFICE/SITE BASED - £60,000 + Car Allowance
You will be reporting to the Finance Manager within the Kings Cross office and at the site office.
This is a Key role and will provide financial support to the partner finance teams.
**Required experience/qualifications**:
- Qualified / Finalist CIMA/ACA
- Good Excel skills (Pivot, lookup, formula, formatting,)
- Analytical review and presenting to senior leaders
- Working in JV’s or good knowledge of JV arrangements
- Knowledge of civil engineering, construction and/or general contracting or long term project accounting ideally in the rail sector
**Responsibilities**
Day to Day running of the financial activities within the JV actively supporting the operational and commercial teams to drive success.
**Transactional**
- Single point of contact for JV in interfacing with shared service teams (FSSC) to ensure compliance (e.g AP, AR and tax) and timely processing
**JV Accounting**
- Building and managing relationships with partner and internal finance teams.
- Ensure JV’s are set up correctly with partner policies and specific JV agreements
- Ensure JV agreement terms are applied in the financial management of the JV at all times
**Month End Reporting**
- Support the JV in the accounting and reporting of JV performance
- Ownership of the basic accounting, reporting and forecasting including production of management accounts
- Work with Group finance, FSSC and the business to ensure financial reporting timetables and controls adherence.
**Cash & Working Capital Reporting**
- Cash flow forecasting modeling and support for review by JV board
- WIP reporting and action plans
- Billing administration and cash management alongside shared service teams
**Cost administration & Reporting**
- First point of contact for partner and JV team for cost reports and queries
- To ensure that all projects costs are managed and controlled in line with internal control policies and procedures. This includes regular review and reporting of key project and divisional variances.
- Reconciliation of actuals & Journal posting governance
- Support team to ensure timely timesheet bookings and accurate time reporting
**Reporting, Process & Governance**
- Support the ongoing forecasting and budgeting process within the parent companies with JV data
- Timely and accurate completion of budgets and forecasts with comprehensive trend and KPI analysis including management of financial risk and opportunity registers.
- Develop and maintain reporting to support business decisions and risk mitigation, key areas being P&L, cash and orderbook.
**Revenue Recognition**
- Support the data provision and actualization of CVR with the commercial team
- Support the review of project performance, cost adjustments and EoL forecasts
- Ensure strict adherence to revenue recognition policy and processes throughout
**Audits - Internal & External**
- Internal audit support
- right cost to the right place at right time, in line with the contract
- Contribute to the external audit process and liaising with audit teams as necessary
**Business Improvement**
- Participate and actively contribute to functional system and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as required by Senior management/Group.
