**Student Finance Co-ordinator**

**The role**:
Taking a lead in the work of the Student Finance Team working closely with the Head of Student Services, Head of Finance, Student Advisor and Student Finance Administrator. The post of Student Finance Co-ordinator will develop, maintain and administer all aspects of student financial support.
This post will be based at the KGV site but will be required to be flexible and move across two sites in busy periods.

The postholder is responsible to the Head of Student Services

**Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities**:

- To take a lead on developing and using the bursary system PayMyStudent.
- To develop procedures that respond to student need and support student achievement where financial assistance is required in relation to the following areas; 16-19 Bursaries, Care to Learn, 19+ DLSF, Advanced Learner Loan DLSF including Childcare Funds and Care to Learn.
- To act as a lead in delivering financial advice support services to learners, developing publicity and accessibility to information.
- To oversee the assessment of eligibility for all funding requests through PMS ensuring they are done in a timely manner.
- Ensure that clear recording and monitoring systems are in place to meet the guidance associated (both external and College based) with each fund, including audit requirements.
- To monitor budgets and provide reports associated with each funding stream, reporting regularly to the Head of Student Services and Head of Finance.
- To review and maintain College policies and procedures in relation to student support funds in conjunction with the Head of Student Services.
- To record appropriate data and to provide information for reports in a timely manner.
- To ensure that appropriate data is recorded to enable accurate and detailed returns can be made to funding bodies.
- To ensure attendance checks for learners are completed in a timely manner where appropriate to fulfil requirements of funding e.g. Care to Learn.
- To respond to changes in requirements for distribution / reporting of funding, including introduction of new funding streams as appropriate.
- Maintain and develop links with relevant external contacts.

- Use College IT systems in order to complete your duties and responsibilities.
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post which may, from time to time be required.

The above duties are indicative of the requirements of the post at the time of recruitment. Possess Level 3 or above qualification in Accounting, Business Administration or other related field E A

GCSE Grade 4 or Level 2 in English and Maths E A

**Experience**

Experience of computerised financial accounts E A/I

Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft packages E AS

Experience of leading a team E A/I

**Salary**:
£23,778.00 to £25,767.00 per annum

**Summary of Terms and Conditions of Employment**:
There will be an annualised working year of 1,624 hours. The weekly pattern of hours to be worked are commensurate with the needs of the College.

The postholder will be entitled to receive normal remuneration for all Bank and Public Holidays usually observed in England and Wales and to a further 30 days holiday in each holiday year (1 September - 31 August).
