**About this role**

**What you’ll be doing**

Procurement is a really important part of any business. You’ll be responsible for making sure we’re choosing and buying the best possible products and services from third party suppliers, evaluating things like cost, exactly what is being provided, and how it fits our business needs.

As a Procurement Apprentice in our security teams, you’ll often be helping us work with partners on top secret projects. So, it’s vital you can work quickly and with discretion. You’ll be supporting the wider procurement team across a range of activities, including going out to tender, supplier selection and contract negotiation and review. On top of this, you’ll be involved in market research, keeping an eye out for new suppliers coming to the market, as well as maintaining our current supplier database. Cultivating professional and strong relationships with all of our different suppliers; it’s all about thinking competitively and commercially.

We’ll help you to become an expert with a range of procurement tools and processes, as well as making your sure you learn to follow industry best practice. You’ll also be working closely with the wider business, so we’ll help you to develop your stakeholder management skills. the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll be able to guide managers through the buying process as an expert.

Because of the nature of the work we do, this role may require security clearance. Don’t worry, a member of the Early Careers Team will talk you through this

**About the apprenticeship you’ll study for.**

As a Procurement Apprentice, you’ll study for a Level 3 apprenticeship called Procurement and Supply Assistant.
- The course runs for three years
- You’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying.

**Entry Requirements**

You’ll need to achieve (or be on course to achieve) four GCSEs at grades 4-9 (C or above), including English Language & Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted.
