The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Fabricator / Welder to work in our site services department. This role will involve providing a site-wide fabrication, welding and pipefitting service for general maintenance and project work.
**Role Responsibilities**
- Design and manufacture fabrications and pipework to meet the maintenance demands around site.
- Contribute to the planning and ordering of materials for maintenance.
- Attend meetings with maintenance department managers and supervisors to discuss planned work for each shift.
- Ensure that deadlines for planned work and breakdowns are completed within set timescales.
- Promote Health & Safety in the workplace and ensure the safe working of machinery and hand tools in the Fabrication department.
**About You**
The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.
- Previous experience working in a Fabrication / Welding role.
- A qualification in Fabrication / Welding.
- Ability to operate cranes, including overhead cranes.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Ability to assess probleM/Fault finding and carry out repairs.
- Able to work at height and confined space.
- Willing to work weekends unsociable hours if required.
**Days/Hours of Work**
37.5 hrs per week: Monday - Friday - 06:00-14:00
