This role would suit an individual with experience of food production, looking for an excellent long-term career opportunity with scope to develop.

**Experience**

**Essential**
- Minimum 2 years previous experience in a compliance position.
- A good understanding of food legislation and management of food safety risks.
- IT literate, quick and agile in processing data (e.g. KPI’s).

**Desirable**
- Previous bakery, retail and / or foodservice experience.

**Qualifications**

**Essential**
- Auditing Qualification.
- Level 3 HACCP or equivalent.
- Level 4 Food Safety or equivalent.
- Driving licence (due to store visits).

**Desirable**
- Health and Safety Qualification e.g. IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH General Certificate.
- An understanding of microbiology within the high care sector.

**About You**

A proactive and hands on individual who is used to working within a food environment, you will need to have a positive and constructive approach whilst communicating and liaising with the production team.

A calm, logical thinker, an evidence-based decision maker and someone who when challenged can demonstrate rationale thought processing.

Thorough, tenacious and resilient, an individual who will use these attributes to understand and address the root causes of non-conformances.

You will be a clear and effective leader and communicator, both written and verbally. You will have the ability to form good working relationships with all relevant team members.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Maintain compliance of the technical function to ensure continued compliance of the technical standards within the bakery and retail shops with regards to the SALSA standard, internal policies and procedures as well as legislation.
- Conduct regular audits of Chatwin’s retail shops to ensure that product quality and consistency is maintained.
- Review and update Chatwin’s retail shop procedures to ensure that they are kept up to date with any changes in legislation.
- Visit Chatwin’s retail shops on a regular basis in-line with the companies set calendar.
- Collaborate with production, customers, suppliers, and authorities on technical and quality related matters.
- Ensures that the business develops an “audit ready” culture, to consistently deliver successful internal and external audit outcomes.
- Be a HACCP team member to ensure all significant food safety hazards and associated risks are effectively managed, controlled and regularly reviewed.
- Provide practical support and pro-active drive to promote a Quality Assurance culture within the business.
- Maintain and monitor KPI’s that measure, trend and identify issues to be communicated internally.
- To liaise with and support the production team with regards to managing the cleaning and hygiene standards within the bakery.
- Carry out routine technical tasks including, but not limited to, probe and scale verification, auditing and GMP inspections, microbiological sampling and chemical titrations.
- Leading or being involved in ad-hoc technical and / or production projects as and when required.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
