We are currently looking for Deputy Registration Officers for the Cornwall Registration Office.

The key responsibility of the role holder is to provide cover for the following staff:

- Registration Officer -** **registering births, stillbirths, deaths and marriages through face-to-face appointments at an office or delivering and registering ceremonies at our offices or approved venues across the county.
- Registration Hub Advisor - answering enquiries from customers, providing information and advice, booking ceremonies and notices of marriage or civil partnership.
- Certificates and Returns Officer - searching and issuing certificates from our archived birth, death, marriage registers.

The role holder will be based in Either the East or West team but could be asked to work from any office across the county, and as a statutory officer occasional working outside of normal office hours to undertake urgent duties is expected.

**West Team - Truro, Penzance, Helston, Camborne, Falmouth, Newquay**
**East Team - Bodmin, Bude, Liskeard, Launceston, St Austell, Saltash**

If so.. an exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 x full-time Deputy Registration Officers (Peripatetic) - one within our West team, and one in our East team.

We are the Cornwall Registration and Celebratory Service, the public face of a legal system which affects every individual at some point in their life. From registering births, civil marriages and civil partnerships through to the registering of deaths, we record those important life events for people. Our vision is to become one of the leading rural providers of Registration and Celebratory Services within England and Wales.

Experience working in the Registration Service is desirable, however full training will be provided.

The applicant must be capable of personally demonstrating and developing workforce cultural values and behavioural competence required for a modern progressive registration service.

A ‘systems thinking’ approach will be expected and a ‘growth mind-set’ is essential.

The successful applicant will be able to use their own initiative and work with mínimal supervision whilst adhering to governance arrangements and working within a lone working environment.

The normal duties of the role may involve travel on a regular or occasional basis. It is a condition of employment that the role holder can exercise satisfactory travel mobility in order to fulfil the obligations of the role. For those journeys where an alternative form of transport is unavailable or impracticable the role holder will be required to provide a suitable vehicle.
