**_As a relatively new part of the wider business, there is the opportunity for the role-holder to really make this position their own, forging a strong partnership with the management team to drive performance as well as develop a strong financefunction underpinned by robust governance and control principles._**

**Planning and Reporting**
- Timely delivery of high-quality management accounts and information, providing actionable insight and analysis, including KPIs and identifying trends
- Formulating and submitting group management information and returns on a timely basis
- Co-ordinating the bi-annual audit process with the external auditors, and where required, internal audit processes
- Formulating and leading an annual budgeting process to guide performance and actions
- Reviewing performance and identifying improvement opportunities including synergies with parent company to optimise the cost base

**Commercial Finance**
- Partner closely with the management team and customer-facing colleagues to ensure robust financial and commercial principles are embedded into the project lifecycle in order to manage and maximise margins
- Ensure regular and high-quality dialogue and co-ordination between the Commercial Finance and Sales teams, with engagement on new installations, pricing and contractual decision making
- Lead regular reviews of project and maintenance margins on a job-by-job basis to ensure performance in line with or exceeding expectation and all variations are billed as appropriate

**Other Finance activities**
- Managing a team of 3-4 finance colleagues and ensuring regular reviews are in place with appropriate personal development plans
- Manage the cashflow of the business, ensuring optimum terms are agreed with customers to balance project cashflow, and suppliers are paid on time within terms
- Ensure delivery of outsourced payroll activities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment tax legislation, including accurate deductions and payments to HMRC are made on time
- Manage appropriate controls and segregation of duties within the finance function
- Ensure systems are fit for purpose

The successful applicant to the role would be expected to have the following experience and skills:

- Holds a relevant professional finance qualification (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) - preferred
- A number of years of practice and/or industry experience with demonstrable commercial awareness
- Experience of partnering business leaders or senior management team
- A keen eye to uncover and realise value opportunities
- Excellent people and communication skills and an ability to form strong relationships
- An ability to effectively challenge and influence peers and senior personnel
- Ability to manage to tight timescales, prioritise and co-ordinate multiple activities

The following experience and skills are desirable but not essential:

- Experience in a project-led business
- Experience with Xero (accounting software)
- Experience in working for an organisation that is part of a larger group
- Happy to work at the office
