Quality Assurance Tester required for my FinTech client in Leatherhead, Surrey.

Purpose of the Role As a tester you will be responsible for the testing of all technical developments on the platform which you will achieve by ensuring that the testing regime implemented is robust, timely and recorded accordingly.

You will perform manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose.

This is a role with defined scope; however, you must be equally willing to continue to play a hands-on role supporting the delivery of products when required.

You will need to work collaboratively with colleagues in the development team but be equally comfortable working closely with the internal end users to ensure high quality and accurate product delivery.

Skills & Specifications
- Methodical and pragmatic approach to manual functional testing - documenting approaches taken and results and being able to repeat and audit previous tests using relevant tool sets as and when appropriate (e.g TestRail)
- Understanding how to test non-functional elements and experience in the relevant tool sets - load testing, stress testing etc
- Understanding of Integration testing when it relates to testing API functionality (e.g Postman) using REST and SOAP interfaces.
- Ability to write test cases to enable the development team to develop with quality in mind - Interest and experience in approaches towards automation of testing - including Selenium, Mockito etc
- The ability to work appropriately with highly confidential, business critical information
- Ability to follow trends in test automation and to propose and implement changes to existing practise when appropriate
- Experience in a fast-paced delivery environment - that balances frequency and high-quality product
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to both a technical and non-technical audience

Tools
- Cucumber, Maven, Java, Selenium, RestAssured, AssertJ
- Advantageous to have awareness of tools (but not necessarily experienced): Docker, Bitbucket Pipelines, Bash, Unix, TeamCity, SonarCloud, OWASP Zap, Locust.io (or any load and performance testing equivalent), Git.
- Advantageous to have awareness of test automation design patterns: Page-Object-Model, PageFactory, API testing, E2E (end-to-end or UI) testing, understanding of unit tests - Advantageous to have awareness of agile paradigms: Scrum, Agile Ways-of-Working,Behaviour-DrivenDevelopment (BDD)
