**Mission**:
We are looking for an entry level QA Analyst / Software Tester to join our growing team in Chorley on a hybrid basis, working within a mixed manual and automation testing environment.

You may be an I.T Graduate seeking an opportunity to work in software QA and testing, or have prior testing experience and looking for the next step to drive your QA Test career forward.

**What you'll be doing day to day...**
- Review and analyse system specifications
- Collaborate with QA Testers to develop effective strategies and test plans
- Execute test cases (manual) and analyse results
- Evaluate product functionality according to specifications
- Create logs to document testing phases and defects
- Report bugs and errors to development teams
- Help troubleshoot issues
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

**Profil**:
**And who we're looking for...?**

A proactive and ambitious Graduate or entry level Tester with great interpersonal skills and a passion for self-development

**Ideally you will have**:

- University Degree or Apprenticeship equivalent within the field of Computer Science.
- Preferably +1 working experience in the QA and testing field
- Preferably some industry experience relevant to EDI, Supply Chain, ERP, Logistics or any other relevant software.
- Experience in QA methodology and Software Development Life Cycle
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of testing phases and approaches, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
- Basic knowledge of test management software tools (e.g. Jira, Zephyr Scale)
- Excellent communication skills

**It would also be nice if you have**:

- Fundamental scripting and programming knowledge (OOP)
- Automation knowledge and tools (Selenium Webdriver, Appium, Cucmber)
- Databases and SQL knowledge (MS SQL Server, MySQL) knowledge
- ISTQB certification

- Located near the town centre in Leyland, it’s a modern mostly open plan office space with parking opposite. It’s a bright, light space with a great break out area by the (well stocked) kitchen for relaxing with table tennis, a pool table, Sky TV and an Xbox games console. It's a calm, friendly and professional environment, with a casual dress code. Leyland is famous as once being the home of one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the UK; British Leyland - probably best known for their trucks and buses. There are several retail parks and leisure centres, the town centre also has a thriving market along with a mix of independent and well known chain stores. Leyland has great access to road links to Preston, Blackpool and Chorley, as well as the M6 and M58 if heading to Manchester, Liverpool or north towards Lancaster and The Lakes.
