**Salary range **Band 1 (£19,731 - £20,058 pro-rata to term time fraction)**

Trafford Council is a Living Wage Employer - this means that we pay all our staff a minimum of the Real Living Wage rate which is currently £12 per hour. For any periods where our lowest hourly rate drops below the Real Living Wage rate applicable at the time, we provide an hourly supplement to increase pay to this level. This applies to staff who are on the lowest pay point of our Band 1 grade.

**About the Role**

We currently have an exciting vacancy for the role of Childcare Assistant in the team at Partington Day Nursery to support the ongoing success of the nursery. As a Childcare Assistant you will support the quality of early education and care for children and families that access. You will support the planning and implementation of learning experiences for children accessing the setting. The role will involve working with children and families from an increasingly diverse community to ensure all needs are met in a welcoming environment. The role involves working directly with children and families as part of an experienced team working. You will be a Key person for a group of children to enable them to reach their potential through positive relationships and experiences.

**About you**

You will have experience of working with or caring for young children. You must have numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to GCSE Grades A-C. There will be opportunities to work towards a level 2 or 3 qualification. You will have some knowledge of the EYFS and working in early years. You will be able to form positive relationships with children and families. You will be committed to ongoing professional development to ensure that the needs of children and families are met in an ever-evolving high quality setting. You will be a team player who values and respects the contributions of others. You will be a good communicator and passionate about working with children.
