Senior Technical Officer - Environment

Grade 8, £40,219 to £43,414 pro-rata (inclusive of local weighting) depending on experience.
Full time - 37 hours per week.
Permanent.
Based in Hertford with the option for home working up to 50% of working hours.

What will you be doing?
- Represent the council at committees and hearings using your technical knowledge
- Responding to service requests and giving appropriate advice.
- Undertake inspections, investigate complaints, prepare prosecution files and undertake project work
- You will be empowered to undertake appropriate enforcement action as necessary.
- Visit and assess venues and events using sound equipment where required
- Providing technical advice to the team and supporting the development of officers.

About you
- A relevant qualification or experience within the discipline applied for and a working knowledge of the legislation and regulations relating to those areas.
- The ability to deal with challenging situations using tact and discretion.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work without supervision, prioritise work to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written skills, with the ability to write schedules of work, summarise accurately and convey complex information.
