**Job Role: Street Cleansing Operative**

**Location: Witney**

**Working hours: Monday to Friday 40hrs a week.**

A very reputable company based in Witney are looking for a Street Cleansing Operative. You are to carry out routine grounds maintenance operations and street cleansing activities in various locations in accordance with service level agreements under thesupervision of the Operations Supervisor.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure good customer service in cleaning the streets of the operational area
- Undertake training on the safe operation and use of any street cleaning equipment where necessary
- To remove and dispose of small animal carcasses as instructed taking due care and consideration to any possible health issues and the possibility that the animal could be a resident’s cherished pet
- Empty, clean, and correctly replace litter bins on an agreed emptying schedule
- Remove any reported fly-tipped waste, taking due consideration to any possible dangers (for example asbestos or sharps)
- Work with other street cleaning crews and vehicle in a team to clear areas where necessary
- Alert to any unusual circumstances and bring them to the attention of Line Manager
- Where required to maintain and replace waste containers including basic fixing of wheeled bins, replacing boxes, bins, lids and bags
- Assist with waste collection & street cleansing activities on a seasonal basis and with special events & projects, eg. festivals, etc.
- Assist the driver in safe manoeuvring of the vehicle wherever necessary, complying with the rules of the road - especially the highway code
- Cleaning of vehicles internally and externally
- Carry out snow clearance duties as directed by Supervisor when required.
