Test and Assurance Consultant

As our next Test & Assurance Consultant you’ll have a proven track record of leading testing and test teams through small and large change initiatives. You’ll join a dynamic team in our Bradford and Leeds based Technology Delivery function, within our Lending & Treasury Service.

We are looking for an applicant who has the skills and ability to lead multi-disciplined testing teams on projects, can demonstrate great potential for the role and champions quality throughout the YBS Change Lifecycle. A good working knowledge of YBS lending systems and processes is desirable.

**What You'll Do**
- Influence bi-directionally, support others and provide advice on both process and technical knowledge to assure test solutions facilitate high quality delivery.
- Shape and develop testing approaches and plans for all programmes of work, or support these activities, delivering supplier assurance
- Embed a focus on identifying and mitigating risk in all aspects of testing.
- Drive best practice and process improvement in the delivery of testing frameworks and associated activities.
- Manages all test phases and take responsibility for co-ordinating effective delivery and re-use.
- Providing clear direction, coaching and mentoring to test teams under your purview
- Providing advice to support the organisation in the delivery of test objectives, SME expertise and Assurance of supplied delivery.
- Supporting the Test Management community in delivery, perform testing reviews and reviews of the artefacts used in testing, offering advice as required.
- Encourage open and collaborative working relationships with the wider Lending & Treasury Service teams and beyond, leading by example.

We’re looking for someone who can exhibit good communication, team leadership and analysis, has good technical or business skills and a strong attention to detail:

- Extensive experience of leading and managing IT Testing, having played leading roles in the successful design and implementation of test plans for a range of projects
- Good level of understanding of Test Management and testing techniques and lifecycle methodologies.
- Experience in estimation of testing activities and costs.
- Experience in quality reviews for testing artefacts which ensures that they conform to agreed standards and policies.
- High level of awareness of wider IT industry developments in testing.
- Shows desire to constantly look at and learn from external ‘best practice’.
- Ability to motivate and inspire test teams to achieve their best while under pressure
- ISQTB Advanced Test Manager (desirable)
