**Purpose of job**

Our aim is to become a market leader in the provision of Electric Vehicle charging solutions to Local Authorities and Businesses as part of our strategy to lead the transition to zero carbon.

The goal is to undertake an ambitious electric vehicle charging installation program, deploying high volume and quality EV installations across the nation. Our aim is to make the world a better place, one charge point at a time.

The Junior Planner will work between Zest’s land and operations departments and will play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of our new sites across our charging eco system, contributing to the creation of sustainable and well-designed environments. Your responsibilities will involve assessing, designing, and planning our new sites, considering factors such as land use, infrastructure, and community needs.
- **Key Accountabilities**_

The role is responsible for the following:

- To undertake planning appraisals to advise on the likelihood and best strategy to achieve planning consent.
- Researching, preparing and submitting appeals against refusals of planning consent when needed.
- Meeting planning requirements, submission requirements and deadlines on multiple sites at any given time.
- Providing planning advice as needed for our sites to be successfully deployed.
- Collaborating with Zest colleagues to deliver multi-disciplinary advice, liaising with our client/landowners/land agents and statutory bodies throughout the planning process.
- **Key Relationships**_

Internal - CEO, Chief Development Officer, Operations Director, Finance Director.

External - Client landowners, Local authorities, local government agencies as required, external contractors as required.
- **Knowledge and Skills**_
- Planning experience ideally gained in the urban and built environment, including dealing with masterplans and frameworks.
- Experience of providing planning support on masterplans and impact assessments.
- Understanding of the methods for working with internal and external stakeholders and appreciation of engaging with hard to reach groups and virtual public engagement.
- Relevant degree and ideally RTPI member (though not essential).
