**RCP seeks research fellow based at either RCP London or The Spine in Liverpool**

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is seeking a resident doctor for a **National Wellbeing Research Fellowship**.

We are excited to have been awarded a grant by the Medical Protection Society (MPS) Foundation to undertake national research into reducing burnout and supporting the wellbeing of resident doctors in the NHS. This research project aims to improve national understanding of how to reduce burnout and support the wellbeing of NHS Resident Doctors with a specific focus on Resident Doctors working in Medical specialties across the UK. This project builds on the outcomes of the NHS England-funded Wellbeing Fellowships (2023-25) published research (Emery, Rowlandson, Acharya & Fox, 2025. _Future Healthcare Journal_).

This is an 18-month full-time role for a doctor in higher specialty training (or a senior SAS / LED equivalent), with a flexible start date in 2026. You will be based in our London or Liverpool building with onsite attendance expected of a minimum of six days per month. You will be happy to work remotely and be prepared to travel throughout the UK, including overnight stays.
