Our client is looking to expand their finance team with a finance assistant. The position will involve working as part of a small dynamic team, in a busy finance office. Our client offers a range of employment options including working from home or termtime only working. This is a long term assignment with the possibility of becoming a permanent part of the team.

Responsibilities include:

- Maintenance of expenditure records
- Liaising with suppliers regarding invoices
- Assistance with cash flow statement involving allocation of monthly expenditure
- Receiving expense claims on a monthly basis
- Allocating and maintaining records of Bursary Funds
- Maintain accrual and prepayments schedules and post journals required
- Ensure accuracy of entries in key nominal ledger codes
- Assist the management accountant with month end reporting
- Use of Excel
- Experience of financial procedures, cash handling / security in a similar public sector
- Experience of an accountancy or finance based position
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Schools experience is desirable
