A Housing Association is currently looking for a Finance Officer in payments on a temporary basis for about 8 months

Key responsibilities are as follows

To input invoices onto the Compleat Purchase Order system for payment. Also, to input utility bills such as council tax and water onto Compleat.

To enter invoices not on the Compleat system onto our SUN financial system.

To review all invoices before they are passed for payment, ensuring that they are:
approved by a person carrying an appropriate level of authority; and coded to a valid code under the control of the authoriser.

To input invoices, cheques requisitions, expenses claims, petty cash claims and other valid requests for payment.

To cancel invoices/cheques, where this is authorised

To assist with reconciliations as and when required

To match cheques and BACS listings with appropriate supporting documentation before presentation to managers for review and signature

To deal with queries from managers and suppliers.

To file invoices and other documents, ensuring that the filing is kept up to date.

To prepare input for automatic cheque run. Obtain signatures for cheques £5000.

Notify requester that Cheque is ready for collection or send directly to recipient. To ensure that cheques are properly recorded on the computer system.

To reconcile suppliers’ statements to the Group’s records when requested or where needed to resolve a dispute.

To enter payments made through Business master and similar systems into accounting records and post to the relevant supplier/contractor in SUN

Essential requirements

Must have a solid finance background in payments and have experience of processing large amounts of invoices

Ideally have worked on Sun

Must be immediately available or on short notice.
