**Full Job Description**

**Support Worker - Young People**

**Location - Gobowen, Shropshire**

**Salary - £12.00 per hour, £60 Block payment for Sleep ins**

**Hours - 8am to 11pm hourly rate then you will be required to do 11pm to 8am sleep in. You will need to be fully flexible to cover days, sleep/wake nights and every other weekend on a rota basis.**

Probation period you will be on a terms and conditions contract, 0 hours, once passed probation you will have the option to go to a 24 hour contract + overtime.

**After 12 months you will have the option to go onto a full time 36 hour contract**

You will be working with 16+ year olds in a supported semi-independent solo setting.

**To be a successful Support Worker with Nurtured Future Living, you’ll need: -**
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding
- Flexibility to work shifts 12 hour shifts, sleep in shifts and alternate weekends
- Hold NVQ/Diploma or equivalent in Children & Young people or any related qualifications within Children & Young people or supported living.
- Ideally over 2 year experience working with either children or young people or within a supported living environment.
- Driver with a full UK driving licence is preferred
- Well written and comprehensive record keeping

- To act as positive role model
- Support in a structure rich environment, being consistent and nurturing
- Assisting the young people to become as independent as possible
- Monitoring and educating the young people we support
- Supporting day to day activities to help build their social and emotional skills
- Managing and understanding behaviours of concern and the reason for them
- Awareness of stresses or abuse, monitoring, recording and reporting
- Assistants with budgeting
- Positive engagement is key to encourage the young peoples development
