**Speech & Language Therapist**

Bladon House School is a residential special school for young people from 5-19 with Special Educational Needs including ASD, attachment difficulties, PWS, moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, communication needs, therapeutic needs (including speech and language and sensory processing needs), and associated challenging behaviour.

The role is suited to an experienced S&LT with empathy, commitment and a genuine understanding of what it takes to support young people with complex needs.

**What you can expect from us**:

- This is 37.5 hours FTE post or we will consider requests for part-time working.
- Salary up to £36,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications
- 52-week contract paid monthly with 11 weeks holiday.

**The job role**:
You will:

- Be an appropriately qualified Speech & Language Therapist who has experience of working with individuals with a range of Special Educational Needs, including communication disorders, SLD, ASD, FASD, and PWS.
- Have understanding of carrying out assessments, designing and delivering interventions and knowledge of a range of AAC methods to support our population.
- Write reports and provide feedback for a wide-ranging audience, including parents/carers, colleagues and other professionals.
- Design and deliver appropriate training.
- Manage a diverse and complex caseload, working directly with young people as well as the teams around them to deliver appropriate support.
- As part of the multi-disciplinary therapy team, you will be working in conjunction with an established Speech and Language therapist and as part of a wider team consisting of a Physiotherapist/Advanced SI Practitioner, Occupational Therapist/SI Practitioner, Clinical Psychologist and therapy assistant.
- The Head of Therapies will provide Managerial/caseload supervisions; suitable clinical supervision will be provided or funded
