Nursery Practitioner

ONE YMCA Charters Nursery, set in the beautiful grounds of Leavesden Country Park in Abbots Langley are looking for experienced Early Years Practitioners to join our large, friendly staff team providing high quality care and education within a stimulating, fun loving, inclusive environment with a big focus on the outdoors.

Successful applicants will;
- Work as a member of the nursery team, showing initiative & creativity while fostering an environment which encourages children’s all round development & delivers the highest standard of care at all times.
- Act as keyworker to allocated children.
- Build relationships with & encourage the participation of parents & carers.
- Work towards & achieve agreed key performance objectives.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of all information received.
- Be a reliable member of a team, working co-operatively and with flexibility and contributing positively to the development of a team environment.
- Able to plan and organise activities in line with childcare frameworks that deliver high quality nursery provision
- Have a positive approach to the management of children’s behaviour

Requirements;
- Qualification in childcare level 3 and significant experience of working with children, or willingness to work towards.
- Good knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage and other curriculum
- Experience of working within early years nursery provision
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- Willingness to undertake training in Food Hygiene and safety.
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate or willing to acquire.

This is a Full Time role.
Hours per week: 37.5
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (Shift work between 7:30am - 18:30pm)

- Move on accommodation for individuals moving onto independent living
- Housing and practical/emotional support for young asylum seekers
- Community HUBs hosting a range of activities and meeting space hire
- Childcare provision in Hertfordshire
- Family support through a network of children’s and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
- Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Hertfordshire
- Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
- Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
