National Buying Assistant

Working closely with your Buying Director, you'll make sure that they have everything they need to negotiate the very best deals.

Our buying teams - if it's possible - have to move even quicker than the rest of the business. And they have to keep ahead of our customers too: second-guessing what they want and need before they do. You'll get involved in every aspect of the buying lifecycle, from putting together tender documents and crunching numbers, to preparing samples and reviewing market data. The proposals start with you.

The Aldi Brand Team oversees all Aldi Own Label Packaging, of which there are circa 130 brands. The objective of the Brand Team is to support the design to print aspect of the product launch process, with a focus on driving exciting creative, efficiently managing costs, reducing speed to shelf, guaranteeing consistency and ensuring effective communication.

**Your New Role**
- Managing the design to print process for a set of retail categories.
- Ensuring packaging designs and artwork follow approved brand guidelines
- Creating cost estimates based on approved rate card
- Putting together critical paths and managing timelines of all stakeholders
- Resolving delays
- The daily upkeep of the Aldi Product Portal
- Status reporting
- Attending weekly Buying Director meetings
- Pre-production of meetings
- Completing Competitor analysis
- Liaising with all stakeholders to ensure projects are kept on track
- Monthly agency KPI reviews
- Brand training (internal/external)
- Identifying cost saving opportunities
- Briefing artwork and design for all packaging product roll out
- Management of packaging design approvals
- Helping implement new systems and processes to improve speed to shelf

**About You**
- Experience within a buying role with packaging responsibilities or experience of working for a packaging agency, specialising in packaging design to print
- Strong organisational skills
- A good understanding of the retail pack change process
- Experience of managing a project using critical path management
- A strong communicator, both verbal and written
- Has a creative mindset
- Strong analytical skills

- Starting salary from £33,035 rising to £38,580
- 5-day/40-hour week, working Monday
