The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within pubs and restaurants.

**Responsibilities**
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or cooks.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Help with the delivery and storage of food supplies and ingredients.
- Support kitchen staff during busy periods by providing assistance where needed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in maintaining stock levels of cleaning supplies and report any shortages.

**Skills**
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a hotel or restaurant setting, is advantageous but not essential.
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques are beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen.
- Good communication skills to effectively interact with chefs and other kitchen staff.
- A keen interest in pursuing a career in hospitality or culinary arts is desirable.
