We are actively recruiting for a Systems Engineer, on a full time and permanent basis. This role will be based at Culina House, Warrington.

As a leading 3rd Party Logistics Provider, Information Technology is a critical part of our strategy and operation. A Systems Engineer will be responsible for the provision of second line technical support, covering Incident management for hardware, software,LAN, WAN, data lines and telecoms.

Performing second line IT support utilising the group IT service desk system to resolve incidents within the agreed SLA/KPI.Liaising with end users, first/third line technicians and third parties to resolve issues, keeping them informed of progress.

To maximise the availability of the companies IT equipment and services and ensure that operational needs of the business are met. To support and mentor the IT Systems Engineer Colleagues
- First Line team. Provide project support to the IT Project team asand when required.To ensure all IT related documentation is kept up to date in line with key IT process and procedure.

Key Duties
- Second and third Line support with cover for first line when required
- To ensure the company’s IT equipment and services are operating effectively
- Effective use of the IT Service Desk to manage incident, problem and change requests through to resolution within agreed SLA/KPI
- Creation of support documentation.
- Mentor junior colleagues
- Infrastructure and network support (eg server, backups)
- Communication with end users (customers) both internal and external
- Communication with first and third line technicians
- Project support
- Ensure that all escalated incidents or problems have been documented accordingly prior to escalation
- To ensure that all escalated incidents or problems have been documented accordingly prior to being passed back to first line for closure
- Ensure relevant checks are carried out to keep systems and services operating within agreed parameters
- Ensure documentation is kept up to date to reflect current practices and operating environment
- Liaise with IT service delivery team and third line support groups, acting as the primary source of support between IT and all local sites when attending site visits.
- Support the IT service delivery team with technical advice and mentoring
- Review process and procedures and report any updates/improvements
- To promote good housekeeping within the department and demonstrate a professional and responsive image to others
- Fault reporting to third party suppliers
- Support of telephony estate - including supplier liaison, switchboard setup and fault reporting
- System administration as required
- Support of hardware estate - including supplier liaison, setup and fault reporting

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience within an IT management role preferred
- Demonstrable problem solving skills with the ability to look beyond the obvious.
- ITIL awareness
- Demonstrable experience with Windows server technologies, desktop/laptop configuration and support, peripheral hardware, operating systems
- Demonstrable experience with Cisco networking, TCP/IP
- Good communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Flexible and approachable
- Experience of mentoring junior colleagues
