Finance Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced, methodical, analytical, self-starter to join our small and dedicated team in Dartford as a Finance Manager.

**Salary**: £50,000 - £65,000 /year DOE

**What we are looking for**

The Finance Manager is the lead Finance role for the business. The main deliverables will be the provision of the monthly management accounts, financial compliance, quarterly forecasts, and an annual budget. This role will also play a vital role in the preparationof the company statutory accounts and the year-end audit activities. A key element of the role will be to build on the relationships finance have within the wider business which will mean undertaking business partnering activities such as financial analysis.This role will have one direct report.

We are a TEAM and as such we are all prepared to ‘pitch in’, meaning ongoing flexibility is essential.

**Principle Accountabilities**:

- Monthly management accounts, flash, variance analysis, commentary, and presentation of the results to the Board and the Group Financial Controller
- Development of further analysis around product margins, sales, and overheads to provide insight to the business management and group finance team
- Quarterly forecast and annual budget preparation
- Supervision and coaching of the Assistant Management Accountant
- Production of statutory accounts, aid the Group Financial Controller with the corporation tax calculations, preparation of the R&D tax claim and management of the year-end audit
- Preparation & input of Job Costing Journals & Adjustments
- Credit control including establishing and controlling customer credit limits as required
- Preparation of payroll, pension, and employee related tax calculations
- Management of company insurances and leases
- Maintain, recommend upgrades, set standards and procedures for the company’s accounting systems
- Compile, verify and submit all calculations and payments to HMRC for Value Added Tax
- Knowledge of CIS, managing the requirements and submitting relevant returns
- Monitor and report on capital expenditure against budgeted and authorised expenditure
- Ensure that all identifiable and insurable risks agreed by the directors are properly covered by valid, current insurance policies
- Preparation and input of Nominal Ledger Journals
- Maintaining Fixed Assets Spreadsheet & updating depreciation each month
- Ad hoc analysis as required by the company management or group finance team

**General**
- Other ad hoc tasks as defined by your line manager
- You are required to carry out your duties in accordance with the company’s health and safety policies and procedures and adhere to all externally relevant health & safety laws.

**Skills, Experience & Qualifications**
- ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Recent experience within a SME environment
- Minimum of 3 years working within management accounting role
- Ability to review processes, suggest improvements and implement them
- Able to manipulate large volumes of data to provide meaningful insight
- Confident presenting and able to challenge the business
- Good supervisory skills
