Acorn House is currently seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the team after our existing Kitchen Assistant has been promoted Providing residential and specialist dementia care, Acorn House is a newly renovated 64 bedded home equipped with its very own pub for residents to enjoy

With the desire to always improve and develop their staff skillset, you will be encouraged to progress and develop skills, qualifications and training with the support of the company, so no experience is required

**As a Kitchen Assistant, you will receive;**
- **£9.55 **per hour, depending on skills and experience
- **22.75 hours **per week, guaranteed on a permanent contract
- **6 weekly rolling rota** (making it easy to plan that work/life balance)
- Nottingham based; **NG5 2AT**, with parking available on site

**As a Kitchen Assistant, your duties will involve;**
- Assisting and supporting the cook in the preparation of varied, nutritious and delicious meals for the residents
- Bring fresh, new ideas whilst assisting the team to create menus, plating meals, arranging food, etc.
- Ensure the general cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen area, equipment and appliances
- Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties
- Monitoring stock rotation, complying with company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACCP guidelines

**Ideally, as a Kitchen Assistant you will have;**
- Fantastic communication and organisation skills
- Basic food hygiene certificate
- Ability to manage workload, and time and prioritise tasks efficiently
- Understanding of COSHH & a commitment to infection and prevention control
- Knowledge of basic food preparation, stock control and rotation
