We are looking for two Medical Endoscopists to join our JAG accredited units at Basildon and Broomfield.

In you role you will also contribute to leading our Southend site to JAG accreditation. Although the post is initially for a one year fixed term contract position, previous post holders have progressed to the next step within their career path following completion of the fixed term contract opportunity.

This is a full time 40 hours/week post, the equivalent of 10 sessions per week. Endoscopy lists will be delivered 1:5 weekends will compensatory time off from weekday sessions.

The role is divided between service and training components

Service component
- the focus is the delivery of 5 endoscopy lists /week, and while based at the Basildon site for the majority of those lists, some ad hoc at the Southend and Broomfield sites.
- 1 clinic/week
- Clinical administration resulting from their clinics or endoscopy lists
- There are no on-call commitments
- There are no regular ward commitments.

Your role will be divided between service and training components

Service component will have you concentrate on the focus of the delivery of 5 endoscopy lists per week, and while based at the Basildon site for the majority of those lists, some ad hoc list will be held at the Southend and Broomfield sites. These will include clinical administration resulting from their clinics or endoscopy lists and there will be no on-call or regular ward commitments.

Training opportunity involves training in advanced endoscopy techniques to include Advanced polypectomy / EMR and the less common techniques (PEC, NJT, OTSC, buried bumper, PEG-G, etc..) including developing the skills to run a Endoscopy service, involvement in Surveillance, validation, audit for GRS, service development, maintenance of JAG accreditation at the Basildon site, EMR referral pathway and being a member of the core endoscopy unit operational group.
