Service Care Solutions is looking for a Front-End Developer to work for the Avon & Somerset Constabulary on a 7-Month contract.
**Location**: Exeter
**Job Description/Responsibilities**:

- To use a combination of specialist knowledge and interpersonal skills to consult with end users, colleagues, and senior stakeholders.
- To work on the design, coding, and styling of the front-end of the force website and intranet and other websites and services as required.
- To work, as directed by the Team Lead, to deliver an effective, high-quality service to the organisation and all its customers. Research and resolve technical issues in a timely manner and follow up directly on recommendations and action plans to deliveran effective and efficient first-class seamless IT service provision.
- To provide any required documentation to the prescribed standard for the IT Directorate and ensure any change in procedure and/or documentation is available to relevant parties at the earliest.
- To work closely with the user experience team, in understanding aspects of a user's journey, whilst working on the design of the force's digital channels.
- To ensure security measures are designed into existing and new interfaces ensuring integrity of the system, along with developing and testing all design work to ensure it meets accessibility guidelines and provide analysis of web usage.
- To maintain/enhance working knowledge of emerging technology and industry best practice, gaining knowledge and expertise through hand-on experience, self-study, and other agreed learning environments.
- To technically support the organisation and the IT infrastructure required to deliver and support the IT Directorate services and products to meet the needs of the force.
- To evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes and practices within own area of work to identify and implement opportunities for change and innovation and enable continuous improvement. Provides technical advice, guidance, and support to managers withinthe organisation as well as defining standards for others to follow.
- To support the strategy of the IT Directorate contributing to the overall strategy and vison of the organisation.
- To research emerging technologies and tools and adapt to changes in the industry.

**Experience**:

- Experience of designing and developing websites
- Experience of building on top of a Content Management System, Such as WordPress and building Single Page Applications (SPA) from scratch.
- Experience of one or more of the following: PHP, Node, View, React.
- Experience of and understanding of front-end technologies and HTML, CSS and JavaScript programming languages
- Experience of delivering a high-quality service to customers and users.
- An understanding of building accessible websites to latest industry standards.
- Experience of using prototypes and wireframes to build and testing designs.
