**Pay Range/details: £32000 to £45000 per annum**
**Contract Type: Permanent**
**My client is looking for a skilled Tooling Design Engineer, proficient in the use of Solidworks to join their growing team at their Gloucester-based state-of-the-art facility**
**Key Responsibilities - Tooling Design Engineer
The role is to ensure that engineering drawings are produced in line with technical and commercial requirements.
To produce engineering drawings for the range of tooling to specification, using Solidworks.
- To design, develop tooling and test, as applicable.
- To produce proposal drawings for customers as part of the quotation process.
- Ensure all documentation is correctly updated, referenced and stored for easy reference.
- Strive for cost reductions and improved efficiencies within the process.
- To identify opportunities for process, productivity and quality improvements by highlighting issues to management.
- To actively participate in improvement projects as required.
- Develop effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholder, customers and suppliers to ensure best outcomes for the client.
**Qualifications & Requirements -
Tooling Design Engineer
Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks software.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, geometric tolerancing and specifications.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes.
- HNC or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
- Ability to react positively and calmly with sudden and unexpected changes in demand.
- Capable of working accurately, calmly and effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, with experience of building professional relationships at all levels across the business.
- Proven commercial awareness.
- An interest in thermodynamics and fluid flow would be an advantage
