Senior Renewables Originator

We are looking for a Senior Renewables Originator for the UK market with a strong focus on identifying and contracting (buying and selling) UK Renewable Energy Solutions (RES), eg. Renewable PPAs and CPPAs for Vattenfall. As part of the Renewables Origination team focused on the UK, Continental Europe and Nordics, your task will be to identify UK opportunities, structure deals and conclude transactions, including management of internal processes required for deal closure (legal, credit, risk, structuring etc). The team is expected to ensure full market coverage by keeping in active contact with all relevant parties in the UK market.

Renewables Origination seeks business opportunities in Vattenfall’s core markets and adjacent traded markets in order to create profit, mitigate risk and develop new business opportunities. The focus is on Corporate and Renewable PPAs, as well as other structured deals and non-standard contracts, where Renewables Origination acts as the single interface to the market. The Renewables Origination team covers the renewable generators, large industrial consumers, wholesale traded markets, asset-backed origination and all other RES non-standard product/services that leverage Vattenfall’s trading set up and capabilities.

You will report to the Head of Renewables Sales.

**Tasks and responsibilities**:

- Originate new business in renewable energy markets according to the needs of Vattenfall’s portfolio and in line with Vattenfall’s strategy and purpose
- Identify deal opportunities, with strong focus on mid and long term Renewable Energy Solutions, PPAs, Corporate PPAs
- Originate, negotiate & structure complex transactions with external counterparties
- Grow renewables business and execute asset strategy with Business Area Wind
- Build and maintain relationships in the UK energy market particularly focused of renewable generators and customers
- Lead the deal process from beginning to end, including liaison with all internal stakeholders, plan and carry out negotiations

**Your Profile**
- 5 years experience in UK power market, ideally in Renewables Origination
- Proper understanding of the UK energy market
- Proven track record of deal initiation to deal closing
- Resilient and determined to execute the Vattenfall’s strategy and to reach our goals
- Strong networker and able to build trust and engagement, both within the company and externally
- Strong commercial sense and a good understanding of trading, risk management, credit risk, back office and finance functions
- Willing communicator, able to co-ordinate the deal approvals process within Vattenfall
- Academic degree - technical or economical, Master of Science or higher
- Able to work independently to originate and close deals, but nevertheless comfortable in a team environment
